About Our Bison

At Black Mountain Bison, we take pride in the origin and upbringing of our bison, which are central to the quality of the products we offer. All our bison are raised at the historic Terry Bison Ranch, situated just 7 miles south of Cheyenne, Wyoming along the scenic Colorado/Wyoming border.

Spanning 27,500 acres of pristine land, the Terry Bison Ranch is a true representation of the wild west’s vast and unspoiled beauty. The ranch is home to approximately 2,500 head of American Bison, thriving in their natural habitat under the wide-open skies.

Our bison benefit immensely from the expansive pastures where they roam freely. This natural and stress-free environment allows them to grow at a healthy pace, contributing to the premium quality of meat they provide. In addition to grazing on native grasses, our bison are grain-finished. This careful finishing process enhances the flavor, tenderness, and overall quality of the bison meat, ensuring that every product we offer is not only delicious but also meets the highest standards of quality.

At Black Mountain Bison, we are dedicated to preserving the rich western heritage and upholding the highest standards of quality in every cut of meat we produce. By choosing our products, you are not only indulging in the premium quality of meat raised in the expansive pastures of the wild west but also embracing a tradition that celebrates the robust history and spirit of the American West.
